CAFLL was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on February 1, 2010.

CAFLL was granted the Federal Income Tax Exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code effective February 1, 2010. The letter of approval was issued by the IRS on December 21, 2010.

Mission statement

The Chinese and American Forum on Legal Information and Law Libraries (CAFLL) promotes the accessibility of legal information and fosters the education of legal information professionals in the United States and China.

Vision statement

The rule of law in China and the United States is strengthened by a recognition of the central role professional law librarians play in collecting, organizing and making accessible each nations’ legal information.
